April 2017 Net Worth: $190,100.24

April meant Spring Break and traveling to Medellín, Colombia, a city that is re-building from a crime-filled past. Hopefully, May brings flowers in the form of real estate, since that is what I am finally pursuing next.

Updates…

Cash Savings: I had to put rent on my credit card this month because I didn’t have enough in my checking account. Priorities (allocating to investing first). 😉

403b: Halfway to maxing it out!

IRA Roth and Traditional: This hasn’t been updated since mid-April, but they went up a bit.

More Vanguard Fun: All systems a go!

Horace Mann: These have just become annoying. Need to consolidate them.

HSA: This goes up a bit with every paycheck. I need to call the HSA bank and sure these funds are being invested well…

Credit Cards: This went up more than I thought it would…perhaps from my Colombia trip?

March 2017 Net Worth: $185,971.47

Off to the Tiny House Conference in Portland this weekend. So intrigued by these homes…not only the thought of embracing my inner Walden, but the appeal of saving a ridiculous amount of money and being able to travel wherever, whenever.

This month’s jump isn’t as impressive as February to March’s >10k increase, but I’ll take it. The district added an HSA option to medical insurance this school year, which I was pretty giddy to sign up for, so that’s an exciting new addition to the assets. 🙂 Also impressed with the side hustle income of $700 compared to March 2016’s side income of $390.

Let’s spring into it, shall we?

January 2017 Net Worth: $168,548.33

I took the trip of a lifetime over New Year’s…Antarctica! I have finally been to all seven continents! I started a teaching job right after, hence the craziness of not even putting up a January net worth post. My first paycheck after 6 months comes on Friday…that will feel nice again. 😛 I may have not made my end-of-the-year net worth goal, but it was completely worth it!

August 2016 Net Worth: $173,157.16

The picture is in honor of my friend’s wedding this upcoming weekend. I love weddings!

You can just call it a “Side Hustle Summer.” With 2-3 babysitting gigs a week along with focus groups and selling items on the side, I am bringing in an okay amount of money. I mean, it’s no steady paycheck (miss those!), but it is still wonderful getting to do whatever you want whenever you want every single day. 🙂

July 2016 Net Worth: $174,802.16

Excuse the late update; my WordPress was acting up. A couple updates, friends. A lot has happened the past month. The picture is from my sister and I attending World Youth Day in the motherland, Poland. As for the job front? Long story short, I have resigned from my job and am taking a “mini-retirement.” It feels wonderful. 🙂

Now, that you’re settled in, let’s see those July/mostly August numbers. 😉

June 2016 Net Worth: $173,006.83

I just got back from Singapore and Thailand on Wednesday. That photo is of me at the Marina Bay Sands infinity pool in Singapore. I also fell in love with Chiang Mai and playing with the elephants! While I was on the trip, the stock market dropped a bit from Brexit, hence the net worth. But, such is life, right? Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, but it all balances out in the end. 🙂

403b: It is summertime, so I am not able to put 60% of my paycheck into my Vanguard VTSMX fund. I am doing the best I can with side-hustle summer money, though.

IRA Roth and Traditional: This fluctuated a bit. Thanks Brexit.

More Vanguard Fun: I have been reading more and more about asset allocation, so I would like to balance this out.

Horace Mann: This only went up a few dollars. Should I switch this to Vanguard?

Car: I would like to use this for job interviews, until I land one where I do not need it, then I’d like to sell it.
