Back to “work” as a teacher tomorrow!

I am so happy to announce the principal called me and told me I can start to go back as a temporary teacher tomorrow! Woo! I was bummin’ pretty hard about going back as an aide (after being a teacher for so long), but I am SO excited to go back to teaching! I missed it! I love my job and don’t see it as “work.”

Because of my 90-day leave, I will miss my net worth goal by 20K this year, but, guys, get this. Since the stock market has been doing so well, even though I have been without a paycheck the past six months, my net worth has only gone down 5K. That’s it!

Life is so, so good. Did I mention I love this time of year? It truly is the most wonderful time of the year! 🙂

November 2016 Net Worth: $168,887.08

My mom and I went to Hong Kong over Thanksgiving Break. What a cool city! I start an aide position this week or next, depending on when my fingerprints go through.

August 2016 Net Worth: $173,157.16

The picture is in honor of my friend’s wedding this upcoming weekend. I love weddings!

You can just call it a “Side Hustle Summer.” With 2-3 babysitting gigs a week along with focus groups and selling items on the side, I am bringing in an okay amount of money. I mean, it’s no steady paycheck (miss those!), but it is still wonderful getting to do whatever you want whenever you want every single day. 🙂

Excuse the late update; my WordPress was acting up. A couple updates, friends. A lot has happened the past month. The picture is from my sister and I attending World Youth Day in the motherland, Poland. As for the job front? Long story short, I have resigned from my job and am taking a “mini-retirement.” It feels wonderful. 🙂

Now, that you’re settled in, let’s see those July/mostly August numbers. 😉

How are you doing with your net worth goals?

Seven for Sunday (#14)

Happy Super Bowl Sunday! What team are you cheering for? I’m more of a snacks and commercials person myself. 😉

Here are seven for this week. I’m off to Iceland on Friday (woo!), so I will not have one of these up for next weekend.

1. Valentine’s Day (frugal-style)
I love Valentine’s Day! But, you don’t have to spend a bunch to make it great! Enjoy it, whatever you end up doing. 🙂

2. Budget for the Things you Love
Pick three things in your life worth spending money on and don’t sweat it if you go a little over each month. This month for me is travel. It is one of the categories I do not sweat over, since it is something that I love and am passionate about. 🙂

3. Last-Minute Super Bowl Party Tips
Hosting a party today? Here are a few last-minute tips. We are going to a potluck party; great idea!

4. Pay Yourself First
It’s one of the top rules of personal finance, so why aren’t more people doing it?

5. File Your Taxes
File your taxes, and make your money work for you!

6. Side Hustle Sunday
Every day I’m hustlin’. What do you do for your side hustle(s)?

7. Retiring Early
A conversion ladder can help you do that. 🙂

Enjoy the game (or Puppy Bowl)!
